Homeware Sneak Peak

Recently my boyfriend and I moved in to our first house together. Now one of the most exciting things about that is decorating and putting our on stamp on our furniture that our families have kindly helped out with. Obviously we don't have a lot of money as it takes a lot of saving and time and effort to actually get the house in the first place. So we are just buying bits and bobs when we have spare money, which isn't very often unfortunately.

So I thought I would share some of my favourite little items that have made my kitchen a cosier and more homely place. We have quite a big kitchen and there is a huge space for a big table and chairs. However we sometimes like to sit in the lounge whilst we are eating so we can catch up on our favourite tv shows, I know its not ideal. So instead of just having a large wooden table and nothing on it I decided to buy a few things to make it look nicer even if it is not being used.

I live in a small village/town in the Cotswolds and there is an amazing shop that is stacked high with shabby chic goodness and so I am forever in there eyeing up what I can get when I get paid. At the moment I am finding Homeware shopping just as exciting as I find clothes shopping!

So here are a few pictures of what I have lying around...

So this is what my table looks like at the end. Subtle lighting and flowers to keep it looks fresh and cosy!

I found these glass coasters in a little shop in a town near us, they are actually drinks coasters but I thought they would be perfect to hold candles instead of the wax getting all over the table and being near enough impossible to get off.

One of my favourite items that I bought is this set of four place mats. These are also from that little shop in our town named Orchard Layne in Chipping Campden. I absolutely adore these place mats as I think they are so stylish in their Silver/Grey lace effect and they look good just on the table even if you aren't using the table. I think these were around £1.50 each.

And last but not least is my little black vase from the one and only IKEA. I had to pick this up when I saw it. I think it is just ideal to have some flowers as a centre piece on the table or on a coffee table. It isn't huge so you would have to split a bunch of flowers in two but I also think it looks great with some artificial flowers which Ikea also sell!

Please let me know if you like my items or if you have any suggestions of what I might like!

Why I Don't Like Social Networks

Social networks vs social networking by Marc Smith

This is just going to be a little rant about why I don't use social media. I don't think there is anything wrong with the actual websites per say, but I do have my valid reasons for why I deleted all of my accounts a couple of years back.

I was in school at the time of when I decided to withdraw myself from the internet. The main reason, which you have probably guessed, was bullying. I got bullied at school and then it carried on when I got home on the internet. When you go home you expect to relax and enjoy your time at home after a hard day at school. But instead I would have it all night long and then dread going back into school in the morning.

I also find social media very addicting, i'm afraid to say. I used to spend hours scrolling through Facebook and Twitter and I never knew what I was looking at! I think its just somewhere where people write a load of rubbish and bitch about other people and personally I wanted to spend my time more productively than that!

I have to say now that I agree completely with people using Social Media to promote their business's as I think that is the way the world is going. Because of how much time people spend online that is the best way for people to notice new business's and blogs etc.

I personally don't use an apart from Google+ for my blog.

I don't really know why I am doing this post but everyone has there own opinions and I just wanted to say if you don't use social media it doesn't single you out!

Let me know your thoughts on this

April Wishlist

Now I know that this is a bit early for an April Wishlist and the reason for that is because I have had my eyes on a few products/items for a while now but I haven't been able to afford much recently because my boyfriend and I moved into our first home together a couple of weekends ago. We love it so so much and are very happy. But instead of going on about that which I know none of you will be bothered about I will get on to the whole point of this blog. What I would like to get my hands on in April.

The first product that I have been wanting to try is the Charlotte Tilbury - Multi Miracle Glow. I have to admit I am not the most thorough when it comes to cleansing my face and taking my makeup off. I'm a make-up wipe and a bit of moisturiser kinda girl. However recently I have started to notice that my skin has been feeling more dry and not looking as healthy as it should be. So its time for a change and I  would really like to try this product. I have heard a lot of good things about this little pot of goodness. We all adore her make-up collection so the skin care range can only be as good, if not better!

The next product that I am wanting so bad is the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Palette. Number 1, the packaging is a chocolate bar! And the colours are so pretty. It has 16 chocolate inspired colours, some matte, some shimmer and a few daring colours that are just to tempting to not try! Again, I've heard a lot of great reviews about this little palette of deliciousness and to top it off it even smells like chocolate.

The last item that is remotely related to the rest of this blog post is a dressing table and chair. We ventured in to Dunelms the other day and I instantly fell in love with this dressing table and chair set. It is just what i'm looking for to put in our spare room so I can pamper myself each morning. It is shabby chic yet stylish and elegant. This is something i'm sure my boyfriend will appreciate, maybe not. And this is where you can take a look for yourself. http://www.dunelm-mill.com/shop/toulouse-black-dressing-table-and-stool-364251

That will be the end of my blog otherwise I will go on forever and thats not very fun for you all.
Thankyou for reading and please let me know if you guys have any products that you would like to try or think that I would like please comment and let me know!

Winter Getaway

As the winter nights got longer and the days got colder, my boyfriend and I decided to book a week away in the sun which wasn't going to set us back a fortune. So after many nights of scrolling through travel sites and talking to people about a possible destination.

We finally settled on Costa Adeje, Tenerife. Mainly because it was going to be hot, sunny, cheap and fun. However we did have this niggling dread that it was going to be just like Benidorm. We couldn't have been more wrong.

It was honestly a lovely place to visit and we both said we would go back tomorrow. We stayed in the Isla Bonita hotel with the all inclusive package. We didn't have one complaint, but if you can really call it a problem (which it wasn't)  it would be the alcohol measures. They have no concept of how much Vodka to put in one drink. Who's complaining!

There is never enough things to do on this island including things like Jet Skiing and a lot of water activities. We decided to make our way up to the 3000+ metre volcano as we don't get to see one every day and there aren't many places that you can get right to the top of. It was truly stunning on top of the volcano and a must for anyone who wants to go to Tenerife

All in all we had an absolutely amazing holiday and are very much looking forwards to our next one!

Please comment if you have been anywhere that you would recommend because I would love to start looking for our next one now!

What was your favourite holiday?

Boxing Day Beauty Buys

My Boxing Day Beauty Buys

On boxing day, as we do each year, we went shopping of course for all the huge savings. This year I bought a few items of clothing and I had to drag ourselves in to House of Fraser for all the make up counters. Now the make up counters didn't actually have any sales on but I had my eye on a few things for a few weeks and I thought i'd treat myself to some new goodies!

The first one that I really wanted was the Benefit High Beam highlighter. Its almost like a nail varnish that you use on your face. I have been looking for a good highlighter for a while as I go quite heavy on the bronzer as I like to shape my cheek bones but it always means that I am left looking a little dull.
This little pot of light is amazing! Just one stroke of the brush on each apple of the cheek and a bit above my brow and my face is left looking so radiant and fresh! I'm pretty sure this one only comes in one shade but it mixes in really well with my skin tone so I would recommend this to anyone who would just like that little lift! I think it was around £19.50, a little pricey but it would last a long time as you only have to use the slightest stroke and it is definitely worth it!

The second item I bought was something that I wasn't desperate for. Just a bit intrigued as to what it would be like to use something slightly different on my eyebrows. The item was the Bobbi Brown Natural Brow Shaper and Touch Up in the shade Hazelnut. I normally use a standard pencil on my eyebrow as I find it easier to add shape if I need to touch up the ends and extend them a little, but I thought there must be a better way to get the bold colour in the main brow. So I was willing to try this which is like a mascara for your eyebrows which mimics the hair and adds colour. I really like the product as it is super quick and easy to use. The only down side to it is that it is harder to create shape with it as it is such a big brush compared to a pencil head. So if you already have perfectly pruned eyebrows and just want to add a bit of colour, this is perfect for you. I think this cost me around £16.00 so again a little pricey but its not something I would use every day as I don't like my brows too defined for my day job.

Did you treat yourself to any make up this christmas? Have you tried either of these items? Leave me a comment, I would love to hear!

Cameras

Hey all, I need your help!

I am going to invest in a new camera but I haven't got the slightest clue as to which one I want! I want one that is easy to use but is also great quality because sometimes I do get a little frustrated with technology! I also need one that takes great videos.

Any ideas on which one I could get?
Which camera do you use?
Is there any I should stay clear of?

Please comment and don't forget to follow!

Lush Wishlist

Hello there!

On Saturday my boyfriend and I went christmas shopping in the very festive town of Cheltenham. We found ourselves in Lush where we bought some presents for the family. Whilst we were there I found my self wanting literally every single product the shelves were covered in. It has such an enticing smell and it makes you want to dive into a bath of colour and sparkle!

I picked up a little book that they had with all the permanent lines in it and also a section for the Christmas products. So I thought I would do a wish list of what I want and hopefully be purchasing after I have finished my Christmas shopping!

Hair

'Roots'

This is a treatment that improves the scalp condition and is targeted at thin and lifeless hair. It is safe to say I have ruined my hair over the years with hair colour and extensions so it could do with a treatment. This is meant to bring volume and life back by stimulating the scalp, after all it needs a little TLC.

'Shampoo Bars'

It's like a bar of soap for your hair! Personally, I've never heard of anything like this so I am super excited to try them!

'Henna'

i've always been a bit skeptical of using henna as a hair dye, but after reading lots of reviews I am itching to give it a go!

Bath Bombs

I absolutely love the Lush bath bombs, as I expect every girl does! I have tried quite a few of the Lush bath bombs but here are a few more that i'd like to try...

Sakura
Space Girl
Tisty Tosty
Sex Bomb
The comforter

Shower Jellies

Now I have heard something I really want to try, you know when you go to a spa and you rub the cold ice all over yourself, its so refreshing and wakes you up, well you can do this with these shower gels! Just freeze them!

I've got my eye on 'Sweetie Pie', cherries, coconut, jelly and SPARKLES!

Body Tint

I'm not one for fake tan at all, but I haven't been on holiday this year so didn't get much of a tan which is depressing. I am going on holiday for my 18th though and don't want to be the only girl on the beach looking whiter than the sand! So I've bought the body tint and i'm on a mission! It's a bar that you rub on to your body and the heat melts in then just rub it in!

Last but not least..

Colour Supplements

When I give my face a break from foundation its not a pretty sight but there is an alternative! These skin tints from lush are like little pots of goodness for your skin! A great alternative!

Sorry for the long post, just so excited about lush! It is definitely one of the best shops on the high street and there is something there for everyone! Even men so don't be scared!

What are your favourite lush products? Is there anything you'd like to try? Any recommendations?
